Your Alpaca Account

Last updated: 2026-10-31

Why You Need an Account

On iPhone, iPad and Android, Alpaca asks you to sign in before it can help protect the device. Your account is how Alpaca sets up each device and keeps your subscription linked to you. It does not hold your family's browsing — filtering happens on the device, and Alpaca never sees which sites you visit.

Create an Account

1

Choose Create Your Account

Open Alpaca and go to Create your account.

2

Enter Your Details

Enter your email address and choose a password of at least 8 characters. Alpaca fills in your Region automatically — check that it is right before you continue.

3

Check Your Inbox

Alpaca sends a 6-digit code to your email address. Enter it on the Check your inbox screen to confirm the address is yours.

Can't find the code? Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure the email address you typed is correct.

On the Welcome back screen, enter your email address and password, or tap Sign in with passkey. On Android, tap Forgot password? if you need to reset your password.

Passkeys

A passkey lets you sign in without typing a password, using your device's own screen lock instead. A passkey you create works across Alpaca apps.

  • iPhone & iPad — Tap Sign in with passkey on the Welcome back screen.
  • Android — After you confirm your email, Alpaca offers to Set up a passkey. Tap Create a passkey, or Maybe later to skip. You can manage passkeys later in Settings › Passkeys.

Sign Out

What happens when you sign out depends on the device:

  • iPhone & iPad — Signing out stops filtering on that device. To filter again, sign back in.
  • Android — Signing out does not stop protection. To turn filtering off, use the toggle on the home screen.

Delete Your Account

  • Android — Open Settings › Delete Account in the Alpaca app.
  • Other devices — Contact us and we'll help you delete your account.

Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed by Apple or Google. To stop being charged, cancel there too — see Subscriptions.
