Subscription
Last updated: 2026-10-31
Alpaca for iPhone and iPad is a yearly subscription through the App Store, with a free trial so you can see how it works for your family first.
Free trial
New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. After the trial, the subscription renews automatically once a year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, including during the trial.
For current prices in your country, see Pricing.
Plans
There are two plans, both billed yearly through Apple:
- Annual — for the iPhones and iPads signed in to your Apple Account.
- Annual Family — the same protection, shared with your family through Apple Family Sharing.
Only Annual Family supports Family Sharing. If you've set up Family Sharing in iOS and choose this plan, you can share Alpaca with the members of your Family Sharing group.
The iPhone & iPad plan covers the Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Alpaca on Android and on Mac each have their own plan — see Subscriptions and Free Trials.
Restore Purchases
Already subscribed and setting up a new iPhone or iPad, or reinstalling Alpaca? Tap Restore Purchases — you'll find it on the subscription screen and in Settings › Subscription. Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account you subscribed with.
Invite codes
If someone gave you an invite code, tap Have an invite code? on the subscription screen or in Settings, then enter the code.
Manage or cancel your subscription
Apple handles payment for Alpaca on iPhone and iPad, so you manage the subscription in iOS:
- In Alpaca, go to Settings › Manage Subscription. This opens Apple's subscription page.
- Or open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions and choose Alpaca.
You can cancel at any time.
Deleting the Alpaca app does not cancel your subscription. To stop future payments, cancel it in iOS Settings as described above.
Turning protection off never needs a subscription
Whatever the state of your subscription — active, cancelled or expired — you can always turn protection off in the Alpaca app, or remove Alpaca completely.
