Removing Alpaca
Last updated: 2026-10-31
If you no longer want Alpaca on an iPhone or iPad, you can remove it in a minute. Removing Alpaca doesn't need an active subscription.
Delete the app
The simplest way is to delete the app. This also removes Alpaca's VPN configuration from the device.
Find Alpaca
On the Home Screen, touch and hold the Alpaca icon.
Remove the app
Tap Remove App, then Delete App, and confirm.
Remove only the configuration
If you'd like to keep the app but remove its configuration from iOS:
Open VPN settings
Open iOS Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.
Remove Alpaca DNS
Tap Alpaca DNS, then tap Remove.
If you turn protection on in Alpaca again later, iOS will ask you to allow the configuration once more.
Cancel your subscription
Deleting the app does not cancel your App Store subscription. To stop future payments, cancel it in iOS Settings.
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Alpaca and tap Cancel Subscription.
See Subscription for more about plans and billing.
Coming back later
You can install Alpaca again from the App Store at any time and sign in with the same account. If you're still subscribed, tap Restore Purchases to pick up where you left off.
