Using the Menu Bar

The Alpaca Menu Bar

Alpaca lives in your Mac's menu bar for quick access. The menu bar icon shows your current protection status at a glance.

Icon Status

• Alpaca icon — Alpaca is running and protection is active
• Alpaca icon with strike-through — Protection is paused or Alpaca is not running
• Attention indicator — Alpaca needs your attention (e.g., an update is available or an action is required)

Menu Bar Actions

Click the Alpaca icon to access these options:

Pause Protection

Temporarily disable filtering. Useful if a website you trust isn't loading correctly. You can set a timer (15 minutes, 1 hour, or until you resume manually).

Settings

Access Alpaca's full settings panel to manage filter lists, configure exceptions, and adjust preferences.
